Every article published on Case File History is built as a rigorous archival investigation. Rather than recycling secondhand internet myths or leaning on speculative folklore, we go directly to the original records left behind by eyewitnesses, administrators, surveyors, and chroniclers. We examine nineteenth-century gazetteers, imperial census ledgers, handwritten letters, telegram dispatches, maritime logbooks, court transcripts, and rare cartographic surveys preserved in national archives.
